Campus interviews are also organized in which the interested candidates are first interviewed and amongst them the eligible candidates are selected and then the placements are done and training is given accordingly. On 4/2/2015 we had in campus interview for our outgoing students from Qi spine clinic. It is India’s first healthcare venture to specialize in the treatment of spine disorders and chronic back pain. It started in 2009 as a single location centre in south Mumbai, has rapidly scaled up to 10 centers across Mumbai, Delhi, and Pune. Each Qi spine clinic is completely independent unit capable of assessing, diagnosing and treating patients suffering from back/spine pain and related musculoskeletal disorders.

We were all children once and we all share the desire for the wellbeing of our children, which has always been and will continue to the most universally cherished aspiration of humankind. A day making childhood, children’s day celebration focused on children and their enjoyment. Krishna College of Physiotherapy marked the occasion as a grand fiesta. Various activities were specially organized for the disabled kids. Physiotherapy staff and students organized different programs and events for the disabled kids of our pediatric physiotherapy department. The whole assembly was organized and carried out by physiotherapists who disguised themselves as children and presented programs like playing games, cake cutting ceremony and singing songs.

As a part of gratification & delectation, KIMSDU, Faculty of Physiotherapy, celebrated KCPT’s Extravaganza from 16th Feburary,2015 which was very successful and undoubtedly appreciated amongst many students and staff. Extravaganza comprised of Birthday party Day inclusive of Treasure hunt & Class decoration competition which was followed by Traditional Day inclusive of Rangoli & Mehndi competition. Hat & Tie day then followed traditional day which comprised of Dancing & singing competition. Bollywood day represented different bollywood stars while Gang Day had Tattoo,Quilling & Nail Art competition. The event went well and successful with ambitious contribution by all the students.

An international student’s day has been celebrated worldwide on 17th November since 1939, commemorating the Nazi German Storming of Czech universities, University of Prague. In this year the Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Deemed University also decided to celebrate this day, with the enthusiastic participation among the students and staff of various faculties of university.On 17th November 2014, In KIMS at S-1 hall the panel discussion was organized by the university on the topic “ Quality of Education in India” in order to improve the strength of India. (SHIKSHIT BHARAT IS SAKSHAM BHARAT) More than 300 students and staff witnessed the function. Welcome address was delivered by Dr. VaishaliJagtap, Formal greetings and overview of the panel discussion was delivered by Dr. G. Varadharajulu, Dean, faculty of physiotherapy followed by 20 speakers from the students of various faculties of the university has been delivered their valuable speech on the topic of panel discussion, and the following suggestions were came out as a result of this panel discussion.

1. Advancement in the teaching learning methods
2. Preventive measures for brain drain in India
3. Abolishing reservation quota
4. Concentrating on rural education system
5. Implementing problem based learning
6. Creating job opportunity for all and etc…

All these points were criticized and analyzed and proposed to university higher authorities to recommend to the Government of India for the needful up gradation in the present education system.

After a long and successful cultural week, we had sports week held at Krishna School Ground. It was the grand sports day at Krishna College of Physiotherapy. The sports week started at 8.30 am with an opening ceremony by the dean of Krishna College of Physiotherapy Dr. G. Varadhrajulu and the staff members. There were about 200 students, most of them being competitors and some spectators. Sports included indoor & outdoor games for boys and girls. The events for boys included Cricket, Football, Badminton, & indoor games like chess, carom etc. The events for girls were Throwball, Box-cricket, Kho-kho, Relay, 100 mts running. There were also challenging games like shotput, disc-throw etc. which were tremendously enjoyed. The staff and the Dean equally participated in all the events keeping up the sportsmanship. Many students won the events and there was a huge crowd cheering every participant. All had a good time and enjoyed a lot. The sports week is indeed a memorable and unforgettable event of the year.

“Swacch Bharat Abhiyan” was organised by KIMSDU, Karad- faculty of physiotherapy on 9th September 2015. The main aim was to inculcate the values of keeping the campus clean and create an awareness regarding importance of cleanliness among the students and the staff. The Event started with the introductory speech by the staff about the abhiyan which was led by our beloved Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Narendra Modiji. The entire campus was cleaned by the staff and the students. The abhiyan ended with the vote of thanks by the most senior student of the college.

The remarkable function in connection with teacher’s day was organized by KIMSDU- faculty of physiotherapy in the memory of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan on 5/9/2015. The MOC welcomed the honorable dignitaries on and off the Dias followed by felicitation of the guests of honor by the Dean of Krishna College of Physiotherapy- Dr. G. Varadhrajulu. Some enthusiastic students from all over the university extended their gratitude to the teachers with their thoughtful speeches. The honorable chief guest- Dr. Asha Pratinidhi (Director of research, KIMSDU) enlightened the spirituality of the students by her words of wisdom. The best teacher from every faculty was awarded. This was followed by an informal function at Krishna College of Physiotherapy.

A health checkup camp was conducted at Vaduj at on 23/7/2015. The camp was organized by KIMSDU. The team of doctors was headed by two members from each faculty with staff members of Krishna College of Physiotherapy Dr. S Anand, Dr. Vaishali Jagtap with two students. Screening for almost 34 patients was done. The camp duration was from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Patients who required physiotherapy treatment were screened and consulted for physiotherapy treatment. The camp was found to be of great benefit for spreading awareness of physiotherapy. The camp benefited the patients as well as the students.

On the occasion of world physiotherapy week (8th September 2015 – 11th September 2015). A Physiotherapy health camp was conducted in Warnanagar at Warna chaitanya- a school for mentally challenged kids and at Galaxy Hospital on 10/9/2015.A rally (walkathon) had been conducted from the college headed by the Dean of faculty of Physiotherapy, Dr. G. Varadhrajulu, along with the other staff members and all the students of the college. The event started with a formal inaugural function by the staff of Warna Chaitanya school. All the staff and students were welcomed. The team of doctors was headed with the presence of Dr. G. Varadrajulu, 5 staff members and 50 students. Screening for almost 57 patients was done by staff members, post graduate students and the interns in Galaxy Hospital ltd. Warnanagar. Total of 50 students were screened in the school for any physical disabilities and were treated as required with best physiotherapy approaches. The incharge of Galaxy hospital Dr. Kore thanked the entire physiotherapy team for their valuable support and expected the same work towards the betterment of community in future.

The “World Breastfeeding Week” was designed to support and promote breastfeeding to babies in our community. On 7th August, this event was celebrated by the faculty of physiotherapy, KIMSDU, Karad. The main agenda was to impart knowledge regarding the vital role of breastfeeding and to stress the need for active protection before and during emergencies. The Dean, staff and students encouraged the breastfeeding women and nurture its role and importance in imparting good health to these women.

On occasion of “World physiotherapy week”, KIMSDU, faculty of Physiotherapy organised a tree plantation program on 8th September 2015. The main agenda was to create awareness regarding planting trees and keeping the campus green. Students and the staff of the physiotherapy college were encouraged to plant trees. About 65 saplings like Neem, Ashoka, Rudraksha, Tulsi were planted all over the campus. The program began with the traditional lamp lightening and pooja of the trees to be planted. The feeling of “GO GREEN” reflected all over. The event was concluded with the promise by the participants of keeping the environment evergreen and the atmosphere healthy.

International yoga day was celebrated in KIMSDU, Karad on 21st June 2015. All the faculty members and students enthusiastically participated in the whole event held in the sports complex. The demo session was conducted by renowned yoga teacher Shri Mahaling Mundekar. The college had organised an exhibition on yoga postures with students preparing colourful charts highlighting the significance of yoga. The judgement was done by associate professors Dr. Raja & Dr Deepak Anap on the basis of concept, content & presentation..
