EMERGENCY SERVICES (CASUALTY)
The Casualty has 25 beds and is provided with central oxygen, suction and other resuscitative measures. Services are provided on a 24X7 basis for all illnesses that require urgent attention, accidents and emergencies. Serious patients are administered immediate medical care and after stabilization they are transferred to ICUs or inpatient wards, others are discharged after preliminary treatment with instructions to attend follow up in the OPD.
 

OUT PATIENT DEPARTMENTS
Clinical examination rooms for consultants of various disciplines are also provided with central facilities which includes rooms for ECG, USG, Treadmill, applying and cutting plaster, injections and vaccines, blood collection and counseling. There are two minor operation theatres in the OPD complex. The Registration counter is computerized and linked to central medical records. All OPDs have space for teaching.

IN PATIENT DEPARTMENTS

The wards are well lighted and ventilated with special attention to prevent nosocomial infections as they contribute to loss of resources. Guidelines on safe practices, waste disposal and sanitation are introduced with a view of improving general sanitation and hygiene.
 

INTENSIVE CARE UNITS
Critical care has now matured as a specialty. Traditional intensive care along branches of medicine, surgery, paediatric etc is slowly transforming into a more integrated pattern with advancing knowledge, procedures, equipment and newer methods of treatment. However the extension of intensive care to further specialization in coronary care (CCU), Respiratory care (RICU), Neonatal care (NICU), burns etc will continue and further expand to deal with any emergency. Intensive Care Units have advanced equipments, professionals with special skills and follow standardized protocols resulting very clearly in improved clinical outcomes.

RADIO DIAGNOSIS
X-rays were discovered by Roentgen in 1895. In years to come and after a journey of more than 100 years its importance and impact today is stunning. Radio diagnosis has entered a new era of imaging which would redefine the very way we visualise, perceive and interpret our body structures and organs using unbelievable techniques and technology. The advent of computerization, digitalization, use of sound waves, magnetic fields and 3D imaging has completely transformed this science.

BLOOD BANK
The Blood Bank at Krishna Hospital started functioning in 1984 and in 2003 under the scheme of modernization of blood banks it was completely revamped to a full fledged component blood bank now recognized and registered as a Regional Blood Transfusion Center under State Blood Transfusion Council of Maharashtra.

The main function of the blood bank is blood collection, processing of whole blood, preparation of blood components, storage of whole blood components& destruction of contaminated blood.

The bank has grouping and cross matching laboratories which use latest techniques and screen blood for various transfusion transmitted diseases.
The component division is fully equipped with nine refrigerated centrifuges, Laminar Airflow, Deep Freezers (-350 & -700C), Platelet Agitators, incubators and cryoprecipitate bath.

The blood bank now manufactures four major components viz. red cell concentrate (PCU, fresh frozen plasma (FFP), platelet concentrate (PC) and cryoprecipitate (CRYO).

It also serves a training center for blood bank officers and technologists of other blood banks
